The following are notes and procedures which I have found helpful in the creation of textured 3D models for games and the web. These are greatly expanded in my contribution to Mastering 3ds max4 (Sybex Inc.), where I designed feature demonstrations of character building, optimizing, texturing and animation in MAX and Photoshop.

Texturing a low-poly model:
1. Using Unwrap UVW
2. Using Morpher

Web 3D exports from MAX:
1. Shockwave 3D
2. Pulse

Spline-modeling Human Heads:
1. Starting spline cage: front and side views 2. Convert all vertices to bezier corners and round the edges 3. Cutting nostrils 4. Using a sphere to mold eyes 5. Building the inside of the mouth 6. Creating the back of the head 7. Making ears 8. Merging the sides

Much of the work here is adapted from sessions with Marc Abraham at SFSU.
