ou are a cute little creature in a world that wants to eat you. You start as a child at the base of a great mountain, and you must survive long enough to eat, grow, climb the mountain, mate, and produce the next generation before you yourself are eaten. Ultimate game goal: to produce as many generations in your bloodline as possible.

The Setting:

he game play revolves around the great and terrible Mount Fittest. There are four levels: The valley at the base of the mountain, the lower mountain, the upper mountain, and the top of the mountain.

LEVEL ONE: The Valley Goal: To grow big enough to begin climbing the mountain.
Scenery: The Valley is a forest, with lots of trees and some rocks. It sits at the base of the mountain, which can only be climbed by a young adult. While you might be easier to catch as a child, you are hardly meaty eanough to interest large predators at this age. They are waiting for you at later levels. For now, focus on learning how to move around, get food, and avoid the nastier plants.

LEVEL TWO: The Lower Mountain Goal: To find a mate
Scenery: About a third of the way up the mountain, there are fewer trees than on level one, but it is still pretty densely green. The two sides of this level which are bounded by mountain face are pockmarked with small caves.

LEVEL THREE: The Upper Mountain Goal: To feed your mate and keep it alive long enough to bring forth a child.
Scenery: About two thirds up the mountain, trees are becoming scarce and there are a lot of caves. Most have something nasty in them, but yummy mushrooms grow there, too. There is a pool of water fed by a waterfall.

LEVEL FOUR: The Top of Mount Fittest Goal: To feed your child and keep it alive long enough to be of age to toss off the mountain (and begin the cycle again).
Scenery: The top of the mountain has some trees, but is mostly rock. Deep trenches are cut in the rock, producing a maze. You must find your way through to the end. Caves are sometimes shortcuts through the maze, or they take you back to earlier parts of the level. You never know what might be lurking in one.

The Predators:
top

urprise, surprise; to most of the inhabitants of the valley and Mount Fittest, you are lunch on the go. Just about everything wants to eat you, from the plantlife to the more mobile denizens. What do the nasties look like? What can they do? Well, now, that would be telling, wouldn't it?

You wanna stay alive? You're gonna have to be one smart little prey.
